About One One Penny

Welcome to One One Penny, a personal finance and resource blog created with one simple idea in mind: small changes can make a big difference.

I was raised in Jamaica, and my experiences growing up there shaped the way I think about money, community, and making the most of what you have. I’m a former accounting student with a genuine interest in personal finance, and in my own personal time, I continue to learn about the many ways we can save money, make smarter financial decisions, and stretch our dollars in an economy where the cost of living seems to keep climbing.

Today, I work in healthcare, but outside of work, I spend time researching and learning about financial opportunities, savings strategies, programs, and resources that can make everyday life a little easier. I’m always looking for those little-known benefits, programs, and opportunities that people may qualify for but simply don’t know exist. When I find something useful, I want to share it.

What You’ll Find Here

At One One Penny, I talk about the things that can help you make your money work a little harder. You’ll find articles about saving, budgeting, investing, money-saving tips, and useful resources in both the United States and Jamaica.

Because of my connection to Jamaica and the diaspora, I also want this blog to be a bridge between people and the resources available back home. Whether you’re living in Jamaica, living abroad, sending money home, planning for the future, or simply looking for ways to make your dollar stretch further, I hope you’ll find something here that helps.

Learning and Sharing Along the Way

I don’t believe you have to be a financial expert to make better decisions with your money. Sometimes, it starts with learning one new thing, finding one helpful program, saving a few dollars, or making one small change to your spending habits.

I’m learning too. One One Penny is part of my own journey of learning, researching, and sharing. I’ll share the tips and tricks I discover, resources that catch my attention, and information that I believe can help make life a little easier.

My goal isn’t to tell you what to do with your money. It’s to help you discover your options, ask better questions, and find resources that may work for you.

Why “One One Penny”?

The name comes from the idea that every little bit counts.

A penny might not seem like much on its own, but pennies add up. The same is true when it comes to our finances. A few dollars saved here, a better financial decision there, an investment made with intention, or a resource discovered at the right time can make a difference over the long term.

So, welcome to One One Penny—a place where we’re learning how to save more, discover more, and make the most of what we have.

One penny at a time. One opportunity at a time. One one penny.
